The Group on Earth Observations (GEO) Health Community of Practice is pleased to host the next community teleconference on Tuesday, November 30th from 8:30AM-10AM EST (GMT-5). During this telecon, Amin Dezfuli (NASA Goddard Space Flight Center’s Global Modelling & Assimilation Office) will describe his current research on examining large-scale climatic phenomena, which originating thousands of kilometers away in the tropical Pacific, can affect the arrival date of migratory birds to North America. Then, Sophia Liu (U.S. Geological Survey Science and Decisions Center) will discuss her past and current efforts in operationalizing open science and innovation through crowdsourcing, citizen science, and prize competitions at the USGS, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC).
