The Group on Earth Observations (GEO) Health Community of Practice is pleased to support the “Utilizing Earth Observations for the Prediction of Vibrios in the Americas” workshop on August 18 from 10:00AM-12:00PM ET (GMT-4). This webinar showcased the imminent threats of waterborne diseases and pathogens in the Americas through observation of long-term climate variability and climate anomalies utilizing Earth observation datasets. These tools may be utilized to understand and predict the emergence of Vibrios and other waterborne pathogens in regions of the Americas in the coming years as monitoring and surveillance of pathogens improves.
